Van Dyk Family

menu

Morning is the worst of times and the best of times.

Two summers driving past this location (which really is just a few old buildings just barely off the highway) to get to the lake had me ITCHING to take photos here.  I made Daniel pull over (boat in tow) once this past summer so I could timer us a photo to Instagram, but it really didn’t do it for me.  The way the light hits here meant I needed a family that was game for an early morning photo session AND was okay with the close proximity to the highway and the interesting …neighborhood?

Enter Van Dyks.  Amy is a photographer too so she gets it, plus her kids always looks like they stepped out of a magazine (or Pinterest) – get this: EVEN AT 7am!  So now I’ll be taking my fashion tips from her AND putting her pictures all over my new website.  Maybe printing them for my walls too.  I think that’s a pretty good deal for me.
